Making It Happen - S.J. Eller Friends to lovers --> gimme, gimme, gimme
Established couple --> oooooh, come to MAMA
A touch of angst --> angst me, baby
Finished with a sweet & funny epilogue --> TEARS

In love. Me. Really.

Garrett had to give in to the totally clichéd, romantic notion to “love someone enough to let them go”. He feels like he’s holding Liam back by keeping him in their town. He knows Liam is meant for bigger things and the only way for Liam to achieve these bigger things is if he leaves. But Liam won't leave without Garrett. So, Garrett decides the only way to get him to go is if he breaks Liam's heart.

Sometimes I think I rate short stories a little easy. I mean, they’re so short, right? How am I supposed to be invested in a couples’ story in 15,000 words? Enough to get me teary eyed and grinning like an idiot? Pfft. Then every once and a while I read a little gem of a story and am reminded that YES! I can love characters in under 15,000 words.

I adored Garrett and Liam. Yeah, Garrett was an idiot. But, he was a likeable idiot and he really did have good intentions with his idiotic actions. Luckily, he had an awesome group of people in his life that were able to give him a swift kick in the ass. Liam was equally as stupid but once they smartened up...*sigh*. They were adorable and sweet and fun and, and! Just a great couple.

I had a hard time with flashbacks in the beginning. They were completely necessary to Garrett and Liam’s story, but it’s hard for me to care about a character’s past before I’ve really gotten to know them. So, it was a bit of a slow start for me, but then we were off and I was glued to the screen.

I laughed, cried, or had a stupid grin on my face the entire time. I had way too many feels than I should have in such a short amount of time.

Some parting words: Liam’s mom rocks my socks. The epilogue was golden.
